Our Team

Inspired by the character Barnabas, Giles is passionate about seeing the gifts and talents of others fanned into flame. Alongside his role as vicar of Meads, he is Rural Dean for Eastbourne and Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands; part of the vocations discernment team in Chichester Diocese. Giles studied theology first at the University of Wales and later at Trinity College Bristol; serving his curacy near Guildford before moving to St John’s in 2014 with his wife, Rachel and their three children and a cat called ‘DJ Custard’… don’t ask! A keen walker, Giles can often be seen around the parish and the Downs with the family’s German Shorthaired Pointer.
